IDT's European Network presently consists of POP sites in the Netherlands, France, Germany and Spain, with the hub of the network, along with the Gateway to the US, located in London.
To maximize customer efficiency, current plans include initially increasing the POPs in Europe by three countries, and then considering the possibilities of expansion into more countries. Also under investigation is the number of telecom services that will operate out of Europe, with a view to attracting a wider customer audience, including a new strategy to increase call quality to target top tier carriers in Europe, placing IDT Europe in the PTT carrier category, and putting us on a truly global level. Further expansion of our European switch, implementing new technology designed to make us more competitive and give customers greater flexibility, will foster increased retail and carrier services growth. Also planned is an expansion of the retail platform, so that we may enter new countries with the capability required to meet commercial expectations. In addition, IDT Europe will work closely with Net2Phone to increase its growing European presence.
